Common curriculum development in the field of Industry 4.0

Resumen

We are in the middle of the fourth industrial revolution and this concerns more than just manufacturing operations. The transformation of traditional production and service processes into cyber-physical systems requires not only new organizations but also new competences. Within the frame of our paper we are describing the results of our common curriculum development which was performed in cooperation with Universidad Central "Marta Abreu" de las Villas in Cuba, Otto-von-Guericke University in Germany and University of Miskolc in Hungary. The driving force of our project was the curriculum development team, which was consisted of professors of the participating universities and industrial partners. The identification of key issues shows the importance of logistics processes in cyber-physical systems. Therefore, the focus of our curriculum development was Logistics 4.0 and Internet of Things. Within the frame of this paper the authors present the main phases of curriculum development, and the main trends addressed as the curriculum development process moves forward. Potential implementation possibilities in BSc, MSc and PhD education are also discussed.
