The application of alternative methods for conflict resolution leads to the formation of more passive social environments. In the university environment, mediation becomes an alternative to guarantee the adequate treatment of conflicts. The present research aims to propose a design of a university mediation protocol to improve the treatment of conflict situations generated in the Central University “Marta Abreu” of Las Villas. In the research development, the following theoretical methods were used: the inductive-deductive, the abstract to the concrete method, the analysis-synthesis, and the analytic exegetical method. Data collection techniques were used: the inductive-deductive, the abstract to the concrete method, the analysis-synthesis, and the analytic exegetical method. Data collection techniques were used: survey and semi-structured interview. The results show that interactional conflicts affect the university. Therefore, the need to implement a mediation protocol as a mechanism for promoting healthy coexistence that must contain the essential elements to organize the mediation process.
