Streptomyces effect on the bacterial microbiota associated to Crassostrea sikamea oyster

  • Ricardo Medina

Aim: To determine the composition and diversity of the microbiota associated to Crassostrea sikamea treated during 30 days with Streptomyces strains N7 and RL8. Methods and Results: DNA was extracted from oysters followed by 16S rRNA gene amplification and pyrosequencing. The highest and lowest species diversity richness was observed in the initial and final control group, whereas Streptomyces-treated oysters exhibited intermediate values. Proteobacteria was the most abundant phylum (81.4-95.1%)...

BIOMODELO DE HIPERTENSIÓN ARTERIAL EN RATAS WISTAR ADMINISTRADAS CON SOLUCIÓN SALINA AL 10 %

  • Ramon Romero Borges

Alternatives for the agroecological management of woody shrub species in Northwest agroecosystems of Cordoba, Argentinas

  • Mario Reinoso Pérez

The objective of the research was to develop alternatives for the agroecological management of woody shrub species in livestock agroecosystems located in two Homogeneous Agro-economic Zones of the Northwest of Córdoba, Argentina. Participatory techniques were used to determining the dominance of shrubs, the importance of the impacts attributed to them, the feasibility of conventional control treatments and the pre-feasibility of the alternatives for its agroecological management. The most domina...

EFFECT OF THE PRESENCE OF CORPORA LUTEA ON IN VITRO EMBRYONIC DEVELOPMENT OF BOVINE OOCYTES

  • Andres Quezada Casasola

In vitro fertilization (IVF) with conventional and sex-sorted semen is used worldwide. Cleavage and blastulation are essential for a successful pregnancy (Peippo et al., 2001). Previous studies have reported inconsistent results regarding the effect of a corpus luteum (CL) on embryonic development (Islam et al 2007; Hajarian et al, 2016). The objective of this study was to determine the effect of CL on cleavage and blastulation rates of bovine oocytes after IVF with conventional or sex-sorted se...

Seroprevalence and risk factors associated with Toxoplasma gondii in domestic pigs in Cuba.

  • MsC. Julio César Castillo Cuenca

The aim of the study was to determine the seroprevalence of Toxoplasma gondii infection in domestic pigs in Villa Clara, central region of Cuba, and to evaluate some risk factors associated with the infection. Serum samples from 420 (210 sows, 210 pre-fattening pigs) pigs, from the seven porcine breeding farms of the province were tested for antibodies against T. gondii by indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (iELISA). Antibodies to T. gondii were detected in 66 pigs of 420 pigs tested (15...
