Chlordecone (CLD) and hexachlorocyclohexane (HCH) are synthetic organochlorine compounds classified as persistent organic pollutants by the Stockholm Convention. When the technical HCH is used, β-hexachlorocyclohexane (β-HCH) is the most persistent isomer.
