Resumen
La organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) identifica la obesidad como uno de los principales problemas de salud en nuestros días, y considera que es la enfermedad metabólica más prevalente e incidente en el mundo, considerada como la gran epidemia del siglo XXI. En estudios recientes realizados por este organismo expresa la preocupación por el aumento creciente de esta enfermedad en la población infantil, registrándose que el 41 millones de niños menores de cinco años la presentan. Cuba no está exenta de esta problemática, por lo que se hace necesario realizar estudios para conocer el comportamiento de la misma en la edad infantil y trazar estrategias para su tratamiento. El trabajo tiene como objetivo: Constatar la presencia de la obesidad y el sobrepeso en escolares de 9 años que asisten al 4to grado de la enseñanza primaria. Se utilizaron métodos de los niveles teórico, empírico y estadístico matemáticos. El estudio se realizó en el S/I Osvaldo Socarrás Martínez, municipio Santa Clara, provincia Villa Clara. La muestra la constituyen 30 escolares pertenecientes al grupo 4to A. Los resultados del estudio evidenciaron la prevalencia de la obesidad en los escolares en estudio ya que de 30 de ellos, 16 son obesos para un 56,6 % y 4 para un 0,13% presentan sobrepeso, enfermedades multifactoriales en la que diversos componentes ambientales y de la vida cotidiana repercuten en el estado de salud de un individuo.
Abstract
The World organization of the Health (OMS) it identifies the obesity like one of the main problems of health in our days, and it considers that it is the illness metabolic more prevalente and incident in the world, considered as the great epidemic of the XXI century. In recent studies carried out by this organism it expresses the concern for the growing increase of this illness in the infantile population, registering that the 41 million children smaller than five years introduce it. Cuba is not exempt of this problem, for what becomes necessary to carry out studies to know the behavior of the same one in the infantile age and to trace strategies for its treatment. The work has as objective: To verify the presence of the obesity and the overweight in school of 9 years that attend the 4to degree of the primary teaching. Methods of the mathematical theoretical, empiric and statistical levels were used. The study was carried out in the S/I Osvaldo Socarrás Martínez, municipality Santa Clara, county Villa Clara. The sample constitutes it 30 scholars belonging to the group 4to A. The results of the study they evidenced the prevalencia of the obesity in the scholars in study since of 30 of them, 16 are obese for 56,6% and 4 for 0,13% present overweight, illnesses multifactoriales in the one that diverse environmental components and of the daily life they rebound in the state of an individual's health.
