El Centro Universitario Municipal de Placetas, como gestor del conocimiento, tiene la responsabilidad de contribuir a la adquisición de una cultura ambiental que mejore la calidad de vida de las personas, en serio compromiso ético ante la comunidad y el cuidado de su entorno. El deterioro del saneamiento y las condiciones ambientales en asentamientos humanos es un problema nacional que tiene incidencia en el municipio de Placetas. El bajo nivel de responsabilidad y capacidad de gestión comunitaria denotan graves problemas de actitud ambiental, en los diferentes Consejos Populares del territorio; por lo que la situación actual refleja una especie de anestesia de la conciencia en este tema de vital importancia para la vida humana Por ello en este trabajo se define como objetivo: proponer acciones ambientales comunitarias que favorezcan las condiciones de vida de los habitantes de uno de los consejos populares del territorio, especialmente el de Hernando- Nazareno ubicado en una zona rural. En el mismo se utilizaron métodos como la observación participante y la entrevista en profundidad, Con la sistematización de las acciones se logró mejorar la calidad de vida de la comunidad, elevar la conciencia ambiental y modos de actuación responsables de los habitantes, así mejorar la calidad ambiental del entorno comunitario del Consejo Popular, además el Centro Universitario Municipal, alcanzó mayor notoriedad y repercusión por el reconocimiento social y el prestigio profesional alcanzado por su contribución a una arista importante de la seguridad ambiental como dimensión del desarrollo local y la Seguridad Nacional.
The Municipal University Center of Placetas, as a manager of knowledge, has the responsibility of contributing to the acquisition of an environmental culture that improves the quality of life of people, with a serious ethical commitment to the community and the care of its environment. The deterioration of sanitation and environmental conditions in human settlements is a national problem that affects the municipality of Placetas. The low level of responsibility and community management capacity denote serious environmental attitude problems in the different Popular Councils of the territory; Therefore, the current situation reflects a kind of anesthesia of consciousness on this issue of vital importance for human life. For this reason, in this work the objective is defined: to propose community environmental actions that favor the living conditions of the inhabitants of one of the the popular councils of the territory, especially that of Hernando-Nazareno located in a rural area. In it, methods such as participant observation and in-depth interviews were used.With the systematization of the actions, it was possible to improve the quality of life of the community, raise environmental awareness and responsible modes of action of the inhabitants, thus improving quality Environmental of the community environment of the Popular Council, in addition to the Municipal University Center, achieved greater notoriety and repercussion due to the social recognition and professional prestige achieved by its contribution to an important environmental security as a dimension of local development and National Security.
