DIVERSIDAD DEL CULTIVO DEL ÑAME (DIOSCOREA SP) Y POTENCIAL PRODUCTIVO EN EL POBLADO JUAN DELIO CHACÓN, ISLA DE LA JUVENTUD

Resumen

La investigación se realizó en el periodo 2022-2023, con el objetivo de conocer la diversidad y el potencial productivo del cultivo del ñame (Dioscorea sp) en el poblado Juan Delio Chacón del municipio especial de la Isla de la Juventud. Para la investigación se tuvo en cuenta la distribución, el peso del tubérculo (kg) y el rendimiento por plantas, los materiales empleados fueron hoja de tabulación y balanza técnica; se realizó un cuasiexperimento, además se hicieron mediciones de los parámetros cualitativos y cuantitativos. Para el análisis y cuantificación de los resultados se empleó el paquete estadístico InfoStat (2012), los datos fueron procesados a través de un análisis de varianza de clasificación simple y para determinar si existe o no diferencias significativas entre las producciones, se aplicó un test de rangos múltiples de Duncan para p<0.05. Entre los principales resultados obtenidos se evidenció que de las 100 plantas prospectadas en el poblado de estudio, el productor Cristóbal Herrera presenta la mayor presencia del cultivo con un 35 %, se pudo comprobar también que dicho productor cuenta con la mayor cantidad de clones en comparación a los restantes productores y se observó que las producciones más altas lo presenta el mismo productor, ya que este tiene mayor conocimiento sobre este cultivo y la aplicación de tecnologías utilizadas por en el oriente del país. Se concluye que, son los primeros resultados que se obtienen de la prospección de este cultivo en el poblado de investigación, además que existe poca cultura de siembra.

Abstract

The research was carried out in the period 2022-2023, with the objective of knowing the diversity and productive potential of the yam (Dioscorea sp) crop in the Juan Delio Chacón town of the special municipality of Isla de la Juventud. For the investigation, the distribution, the tuber weight (kg) and the yield per plant were taken into account, the materials used were a tabulation sheet and a technical balance; A quasi-experiment was carried out, in addition
measurements of the qualitative and quantitative parameters were made. For the analysis and quantification of the results, the statistical package InfoStat (2012) was used, the data were processed through a simple classification variance analysis and to determine whether or not there are significant differences between the productions, a test of Duncan's multiple ranks for p<0.05. Among the main results obtained, it was evidenced that of the 100 prospected plants in the study town, the producer Cristóbal Herrera presents the highest presence of the crop with 35%, it was also possible to verify that said producer has the largest number of clones in comparison to the remaining producers and it was observed that the highest productions are presented by the same producer, since he has greater knowledge about this crop and the application of technologies used in the eastern part of the country. It is concluded that these are the first results obtained from the prospecting of this crop in the research town, in addition to the fact that there is little planting culture.
