Incidence of vehicle composition on the level of service at non-signalized intersections in Camagüey

Abstract

In the cities and in the heads of counties in particular are indispensable the communication nets and transport able to evacuate the daily flow of goods and people. In most of the current cities he has expanded the automobile transport and this has generated road engineering problems affecting the levels of service and the capacity especially in the hours of maxim it demands. In the unsignalized intersections of the city of Camagüey they circulate for the same roads that the automobiles the bicycles and the vehicles of animal traction that hinder more the existent traffic problems provoking traffic accidents. She has transformed into a necessity of the Engineering of the Traffic in the country to determine the levels of service of intersections with the real conditions that have the arteries at the present time in Cuban cities, with the circulation of bicycles, cars and lateral parking lots in the road and this way to determine how they influence these parameters in the security of the traffic. In this work they show up the results of carried out studies that they are constituted in technical tools scientifically based for the taking of decisions referred to the incidence of the bicycles in the factors that intervene in the Level of Service in the unsignalized intersections of the city of Camagüey.

Resumen

En las ciudades y en las cabeceras de provincias en particular son imprescindibles las redes de comunicación y transporte capaces de evacuar el flujo diario de mercancías y personas. En la mayoría de las ciudades actuales se ha expandido la industria automovilística y esto ha generado problemas de vialidad afectando los niveles de servicio y la capacidad en especial en las horas de máxima demanda. En las intersecciones no semaforizdas de la ciudad de Camagüey circulan por las mismas vías que los automóviles las bicicletas, los vehículos de tracción animal que dificultan más los problemas de tránsito existentes provocando accidentes de tránsito. Se ha convertido en una necesidad de la Ingeniería del Tránsito en el país determinar los niveles de servicio en intersecciones con las condiciones reales que tienen las arterias de las ciudades cubanas en la actualidad, con la circulación de bicicletas, coches y estacionamientos laterales en la vía y así determinar cómo influyen estos parámetros en el tránsito. En este trabajo se presentan los resultados de los estudios realizados se presentan en gráficos y tablas que se constituyen en herramientas técnicas científicamente fundamentadas para la toma de decisiones referidas a la incidencia de las bicicletas en los factores que intervienen en el Nivel de Servicio en las intersecciones no semaforizadas de la ciudad de Camagüey.
