The classical literary heritage in the phraseology of the popular cuban-canarian oral tradition

The objective of this presentation is to argue, based on concrete examples of the shared use of

phraseological units (UFS) between Cuba and the Canary Islands, the importance of classical

literary sources in an investigation that is established within the framework of the territorial

variation-orality relationship -phraseology and that tries to demonstrate

the permanence in both regions of an oral tradition with deep Hispanic roots that has been

consolidating and transforming itself through the centuries to the present day.

The phraseological data compiled in the central region of Cuba from the application of surveys

(interviews and questionnaires) to Canarian immigrant informants, descendants and people

without blood affiliation with them and analyzed from the contrastive analysis confirm the

validity of the diachronic approach and the diatopic approach as a complement to the synchronic

one to demonstrate the deep ties between two Spanish-speaking communities far away in space

but very close in history, such as the Cuban and the Canary Islands.

El objetivo de esta ponencia es argumentar, a partir de ejemplos concretos del uso compartido de unidades fraseológicas (UFS) entre Cuba y Canarias, la importancia de las fuentes literarias clásicas en una investigación que se establece en el marco de la relación variación territorial-oralidad-fraseología y que intenta demostrar la permanencia en ambas regiones de una tradición oral de profunda raíz hispánica que ha ido consolidándose y transformándose a través de los siglos hasta nuestros días.

Los datos fraseológicos compilados en la región central de Cuba a partir de la aplicación de encuestas (entrevistas y cuestionarios) a informantes inmigrantes canarios, descendientes y personas sin filiación sanguínea con aquellos y analizados a partir del análisis contrastivo confirman la validez del enfoque diacrónico y del enfoque diatópico como complemento del sincrónico para demostrar los profundos nexos entre dos comunidades de hispanohablantes lejanas en el espacio pero muy cercanas en la historia como son la cubana y la canaria.
