International Symposium Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) 2021
This research is entitled: “The educational inclusion of students with disabilities in Higher Education. Essential theoretical references ”; the authors are: MSc. José Alberto Díaz Hernández, Lic. Yissel Sánchez Hernández, both professors and researchers from the “Fructuoso Rodríguez Pérez” UNAH Agrarian University of Havana. The issue being addressed is a priority for the world and for Cuba, since among the most vulnerable sectors are people with disabilities, even though there are normative documents that agree on a society that is increasingly inclusive, equitable, participatory and with learning opportunities for all during lifetime. This research is the result of a bibliographic study of the educational inclusion process in the foreign and national context, analyzes the evolution of the term disability from the most pejorative and exclusive definitions based on the clinical model of disability to the most inclusive and well-founded humanist in the social model. It treats as a necessity the elimination of the barriers that limit the access, permanence and quality graduation of students with disabilities to Higher Education and lays the theoretical bases for the implementation of the international project Erasmus + "Promotion of accessibility of students with disabilities to higher education in Cuba, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic / ACCESS.
La presente investigación lleva por título: “La inclusión educativa de estudiantes con discapacidad en la Educación Superior. Referentes teóricos esenciales”; los autores son: el MSc. José Alberto Díaz Hernández, la Lic. Yissel Sánchez Hernández, ambos profesores e investigadores de la Universidad Agraria de La Habana “Fructuoso Rodríguez Pérez” UNAH. La temática que se aborda constituye prioridad el mundo y para Cuba pues entre los sectores más vulnerables se encuentran las personas con discapacidad, aun cuando existen documentos normativos que conciertan una sociedad cada vez más inclusiva, equitativa, participativa y con oportunidades de aprendizaje para todos durante toda la vida. La presente investigación constituye el resultado de un estudio bibliográfico del proceso de inclusión educativa en el contexto foráneo y nacional, analiza la evolución del término discapacidad desde las definiciones más peyorativas y excluyentes basadas en el modelo clínico de la discapacidad hasta las más inclusivas y humanistas fundamentadas en el modelo social. Trata como necesidad la eliminación de las barreras que limitan el acceso, permanencia y egreso con calidad de los estudiantes con discapacidad a la Educación Superior y sienta las bases teóricas para la implementación del proyecto internacional Erasmus + “Promoción de la accesibilidad de los estudiantes con discapacidad a la educación superior en Cuba, Costa Rica y República Dominicana / ACCESS.
