The General Coordination of Sustainable Development of the BUAP, in coordination with teachers and students, formed the "Rebuilding Habitat" Program, creating a sustainable construction workshop, working on the education and training of students in alternative ecological and sustainable construction systems, through which the university, framed in its strong social responsibility, faces the environmental crisis and climate change, looking for local and sustainable construction alternatives.
In 2017, we implemented an alternative, affordable, sustainable, emerging, but not temporary housing project to quickly meet the shelter needs of people affected by the quake. A bamboo structure was worked with an envelope of pallets filled with waste recoverable as insulators and covered with adobe. This was achieved with the formation and participation of brigades of students involved in the construction process and with the active partition of the community, delivering in just 4 months new living spaces to 5 families.
In 2018, economic resources were managed for the construction of 6 health houses, which were also structurally affected, with sustainable solutions of easy and quick execution, giving structural security and tranquility to the community. Disused maritime contenders were used, conditioned and adapted for this function.
Currently working on the conformation of living spaces in marginal areas as a way to attack the government program in response to Covid-19 #QuédateenCasa.
All this as a model of community work, addressing local problems, involving academia, government and society.
La Coordinación General de Desarrollo Sustentable de la BUAP, en coordinación con docentes y alumnos, conformamos el Programa "Reconstruyendo Hábitat", creando un taller de construcción sustentable, trabajando en la educación y la formación de estudiantes en sistemas alternativos de construcción ecológicos y sostenibles, mediante el cual la universidad, enmarcada en su fuerte responsabilidad social, hace frente a la crisis ambiental y el cambio climático, buscando alternativas locales y sustentables de construcción.
En 2017, implementamos un proyecto de viviendas alternativas, económicas, sustentables, emergentes, pero no temporales, para satisfacer rápidamente las necesidades de refugio de las personas afectadas por el sismo. Se trabajó una estructura de bambú con envolvente de pallets rellenos de residuos valorizables como aislantes y recubiertas de adobe. Esto se logró con la formación y participación de brigadas de estudiantes involucrados en el proceso de construcción y con la partición activa de la comunidad, entregando en tan solo 4 meses nuevos espacios habitables a 5 familias.
En 2018 se gestionaron los recursos económicos, para la construcción de 6 casas de salud, que también se vieron afectadas estructuralmente, con solución sustentables de fácil y rápida ejecución, dando seguridad estructural y tranquilidad a la comunidad. Se utilizaron contendoros marítimos en desuso, acondicionados y adaptados para esta función.
Actualmente trabajando en la conformación de espacios habitables en zonas marginales como una forma de atacar el programa de gobierno en respuesta al Covid-19 #QuédateenCasa.
Todo esto como un modelo de trabajo comunitario, abordando la problemática local, involucrando la académica, gobierno y sociedad.
