As Romance languages, Portuguese and Spanish are closely related at different levels of language, so that linguistic interferences can be seen more frequently. From various investigations, it has been found that the Contrastive Linguistics and the methods it covers, are not only aimed at establishing the main differences between two languages, but help in perfecting the learning process of a foreign languages. The following paper proposes to highlight its importance by making a journey through its history and its contributions, and the linguistic interferences from Portuguese to Spanish of students from Angola. are characterized.
