Abstract
Sanitary landfills are an economically and technologically viable alternative for the confinement of the solid waste generated. The municipality of Santa Clara has an open-air landfill that has been in operation for 45 years, which requires its closure and the design of a new sanitary landfill in the municipality.
Therefore, the objective of the work is to create the methodology for the design of a Sanitary Landfill in the municipality that is applicable in other places.
The work raises the fundamental indicators for the location of the sanitary landfill and the design parameters are calculated, projection of the future population is 376,954 inhabitants, volume of the sanitary landfill 3,071,843.65 m3 per year, the required area 25 hectares, the number of ditches 62 necessary, with dimensions of 4 meters wide, 3 meters deep and 190 meters long, with a useful life of 10 years
Resumen
Los rellenos sanitarios es una alternativa económica y tecnológicamente viable para el confinamiento de los residuos sólidos generados. El municipio de Santa Clara cuenta con un vertedero a cielo abierto con 45 años de explotación, por lo que se requiere de su clausura y el diseño de un nuevo relleno sanitario en el municipio.
Por tanto, el objetivo del trabajo es crear la metodología para el diseño de un Relleno Sanitario en el municipio que sea aplicable en otros lugares.
El trabajo plantea los indicadores fundamentales para la ubicación del relleno sanitario y se calculan los parámetros de diseño, proyección de la población futura es 376 954 habitantes, volumen del relleno sanitario 3 071 843.65 m3 anual, el área requerida 25 hectáreas, el número de zanjas necesarias 62, con dimensiones de 4 metros de ancho, 3 metros de profundidad y un largo de 190 metros, con un tiempo de vida útil de 10 años.
