The energy supply to rural agricultural communities in development countries and especially in Cuba, is a complex activity that transcends the simple selection of a best energy technology. The proposal explains the outcomes achieved by using a multi-criteria decision-support system to assist in calculating the most appropriate set of energy options for providing sufficient power to fulfil local demands that improve livelihoods in the community "Socucho", province "Las Tunas", Cuba. On the other hand, will assist to analysis of the energy existent technologies and their real impacts and in the calculation of possible new technologies to introduce in the community to provide enough energy to the total demands of the community in a such way that improves the index of quality of the population's life. The results are obtained by use of two tools for the support to the taking of decisions in projects of rural energy and the application of a participatory questionnaire in the rural community "Socucho." The main outcome is the analysis of the real impacts obtained with the energy existent technologies in the community and the prediction of the levels of achievements to obtain with the energy new proposals. The work concludes that the selection of energy technologies demands an integral analysis of the indicators related with the dimensions of sustainable development, not single from the technological-energy point of view
