DETERMINATION OF THE AGRICULTURAL PROPERTIES OF A BROWN SOIL WITH CARBONATE UNDER SPRAY IRRIGATION
Abstract
His research was conducted at Unidad Básica de Producción Cooperativa UBPC3 "Jesús Menéndez" in the Agriculture Enterprise “Valle del Yabú “in order to
determine the main properties of the soil under irrigation system dedicated to
beans and sweet potato crops. Six samples of soil were taken at depths between 0
and 60 cm in eight points, uniformly distributed in the two crops under studied
getting the soil moisture by depth. The average of organic matter, phosphorus and
potassium through chemical analyzes were also determined. The study of soil
compaction at different depths and basic infiltration speed were performed. The
chemical properties of soils with carbonate were obtained as a result. The main
result showed very high levels of potassium and phosphorus and median values of
OM. Also the infiltration rate is high considering the type of the soil. The analyses
showed statistical significant differences between the results of moisture and
compaction at the different depths.
Resumen
La presente investigación se realizó en la Unidad Básica de Producción Cooperativa
UBPC-3 “Jesús Menéndez” de la Empresa Agropecuaria “Valle del Yabú” con el
objetivo de determinar las principales propiedades agrícolas del suelo bajo riego
destinado a los cultivos de frijol y boniato. Se tomaron seis muestras de suelo a
profundidades entre 0 y 60 cm en ocho puntos distribuidos uniformemente en los
dos cultivos estudiados a las cuales se determinó la humedad de los mismos. Se
determinó además el porciento de materia orgánica, fósforo y potasio a través de
análisis químicos. Se realizó el estudio de compactación del suelo a diferentes
profundidades así como la velocidad de infiltración básica de los mismos. Se
obtuvo como resultado las propiedades químicas de los suelos pardos con
carbonato. Los resultados mostraron valores muy altos de fósforo y el potasio y
valores medios de MO. Así mismo la velocidad de infiltración es elevada
considerando el tipo de suelo. Los análisis estadísticos reflejaron que existen
diferencias significativas entre los resultados de la humedad y la compactación a
diferentes profundidades.
