EFFECT OF DRIP AND REEL LONG-RANGE SPRINKLERS IRRIGATION ON PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF BROWN CALCAREOUS SOIL
EFFECT OF DRIP AND REEL LONG-RANGE SPRINKLERS IRRIGATION ON PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF BROWN CALCAREOUS SOIL

Abstract

The use of improved irrigation techniques must be carried out by assessing their implications on the environment and in particular on the soil. The present research was done in the EA Valle del Yabú, UEB Pirey, in order to evaluate the effect of drip irrigation systems and long-range sprinklers on the properties of medium-washed soft brown soil planted with plantain, clone CEMSA ¾. For this, three fields were selected where this crop is developed in three different conditions: without irrigation, drip irrigation and irrigation with reel machines. The physical and chemical properties of the soil were evaluated and the interactions between them were analyzed. The results allowed to verify the effect of irrigation on the physical and chemical properties of the studied soil, the impact of irrigation with reels being greater on these. This field had the highest d. a, lower Pt, higher volume of solids and CE. Both fields with irrigation also presented higher OM and P Olsen contents and lower pH values than the field without irrigation. The 80% of thesignificant interactions were related to the MO indicators (5 interactions), d. a (4 interactions) and pH (H2O) (3 interactions), which indicates the importance of these three indicators of soil quality. Significant simple linear regressions between CE with OM and P Olsen showed confidence levels of 90% and 99%, respectively.
