SHORT AND LONG TERM PROGNOSIS OF LATE BLIGHT (PHYTOPHTHORA INFESTANS (MONT.) DE BARY) IN POTATO

Abstract

Problematic:

The late blight caused by Phytophthora infestans (Mont.) de Bary, is considered one of the most devastating diseases of the potato crop worldwide, being a great threat to world food security, due to the damage caused and the high economic cost annual.

Objectives:

1. Evaluate the historical and daily climatic information that allows the application of the forecast systems of late blight in the short and long term in potatoes.

2 Apply the short-term (BMS, Modified) and long-term forecast system for late blight, guiding the phytosanitary application signals.

Methodology:

The Modified Forecast System (BMS) of late blight in potatoes was evaluated, being modified and adjusted to the real climatic conditions of our province. Based on research and the statistical application of a regression module, called, Methodology of Regressive Objective Regression (ROR).

Resumen

Problemática:

El tizón tardío causado por Phytophthora infestans (Mont.) de Bary, es considerada una de las enfermedades más devastadoras del cultivo de la papa a nivel mundial, siendo una gran amenaza a la seguridad alimentaria mundial, por los daños causados y el elevado costo económico anual.

Objetivos.

1. Evaluar la información climática histórica y diaria que permita la aplicación de los sistemas de pronóstico del tizón tardío a corto y largo plazo en la papa.

2 Aplicar el sistema de pronóstico a corto plazo (BMS, Modificado) y largo plazo del tizón tardío, orientándose las señales de aplicación fitosanitarias.

Metodología:

Se evaluó el Sistema de Pronóstico Modificado (BMS) del tizón tardío en papa, siendo modificado y ajustado a las reales condiciones climáticas de nuestra provincia. Basado en investigaciones y la aplicación estadística de un módulo de regresión, denominado, Metodología de Regresión Objetiva Regresiva (ROR).
