Abstract
The objective of this work was to evaluate weeds management associated to potato cultivation and its influence on the yield in the Empresa Agropecuaria Valle del Yabú¨, Santa Clara, Cuba. According to development of the investigation the potato cultivar used was Ultra, planted on december and harvested at 94 days late. Previous, the bank of weed seeds were determined. In the field were carried out five samplings to determinate the weed population every 15 days, using a mark of 0.50 m x 0.50 m. The species were identified and the number of individuals was quantified in every one of them, for ecological parameters indicator. Ten weeds species belong to five Botanic Families were identified in the experimental area crops. The Poaceae family was dominant in the community, reaching the highest values. Cyperus rotundus presented the biggest values of relative Abundance. During the critical period of grow the population of weeds was low, so the average of the 33, 7 t ha-1 was not affected.
Resumen
El objetivo del trabajo fue evaluar las arvenses asociadas al manejo del cultivo de la papa y su influencia sobre el rendimiento agrícola en la Empresa Agropecuaria Valle del Yabú de Santa Clara, Cuba. Para desarrollar la investigación se utilizó el cultivar Ultra. El cultivo fue plantado en diciembre y cosechado a los 94 días. Previo a la plantación se determinó el banco de semillas de arvenses. Durante el desarrollo del cultivo se realizaron cinco muestreos a la población de arvenses con una frecuencia quincenal. Se utilizó un marco de 0,50 m x 0,50 m en esta labor. Se identificaron las especies y se cuantificó el número de individuos de cada una de ellas para el cálculo de índices ecológicos. Cinco familias y 10 especies de arvenses fueron identificadas en el cultivo. La familia Poaceae fue la que alcanzó los mayores valores. La especie Cyperus rotundus L. presentó los mayores valores de Abundancia relativa. La población de arvenses fue baja durante el período crítico del cultivo, por lo que no fueron afectados sus rendimientos promedios que alcanzaron las 33, 7 t ha-1.
