Abstract
Abstract
The present work was developed in Villa Clara Province, Municipality of Manicaragua, in a 1,5 hectare family farm on Brown Grizzly soil of low natural fertility, with an annual half temperature of 26,6 Celsius degrees and precipitations of 1450 mm. The investigation had as main objectives to diagnose the farm, to implement actions to diversify its productions in a sustainable way and to evaluate the evolution of some economic, social and environmental indicators. 7 years of work are picked up starting from the initial diagnosis that showed a low diversification of the production, insufficient use of the science and the technique, low yields of the cultivations, losses of some productions in time crop pick and it lacks of systemic focus of the farm. The fruit-bearing cultivation settled down as the farm main production and then began the breeding of birds , rabbits, pigs and ornamental fishes. The farm indicators got a lot better, standing out the diversity of obtained products, also improved the soil fertility and the reciclaje of nutritious, increment in the revenues and the implementation of a systemic design. The conclusion is that is feasible to establish a diversified farm model with family management
Resumen
El presente trabajo se desarrolló en la provincia de Villa Clara, Municipio Manicaragua, en una finca familiar de 1,5 ha, sobre suelos Pardo – Grisáceos de baja fertilidad natural, con una temperatura media anual de 26,6 grados Celsius y régimen de precipitación de 1450 mm. La investigación tuvo como objetivos principales diagnosticar la finca, implementar acciones para diversificar sus producciones de forma sustentable y evaluar la evolución de algunos indicadores económicos, sociales y ambientales. Se recogen 7 años de trabajo a partir del diagnóstico inicial, que mostró una baja diversificación de la producción, insuficiente uso de la ciencia y la técnica, bajos rendimientos de los cultivos, pérdidas de algunas producciones en época pico de cosecha y falta de enfoque sistémico de la finca. Se estableció como producción principal de la finca el cultivo de frutales y se inició la crianza de aves, conejos, cerdos y peces ornamentales. Se mejoraron los indicadores de la finca, resaltando la diversidad de productos obtenidos, mejora de la fertilidad del suelo y el reciclaje de nutrientes, incremento en los ingresos y la implementación de un diseño sistémico. Se concluye que es factible establecer un modelo de finca diversificado con gestión familiar.
