Abstract

Summary

The Chonta duro palm from the Ecuadorian Amazon that takes advantage of its wood, the palm heart and its fruit is very nutritious, the latter in the harvest season, you can take advantage of the excess demand, the rejection of human consumption, research that was carried out at the Center of Research, Postgraduate and Amazonian Conservation (CIPCA), the objective was to evaluate the productive behavior and carcass performance of crossbred pigs (Large white x Duroc x Cerdo criollo) fed with chontaduro meal (Bactris gasipaes Kunth) in the rearing stage , 14 pigs were used. The animals started with a weight of 40 ± 2 kilograms, they were placed in independent cubicles in a stable manner, and a diet composed of the inclusion of 20% chontaduro flour was provided. The results obtained were 60.64 kg in final weight, 1.87 kg of feed consumption per day, 0.58 kg GPD, 3.37 of C.A. Carcass performance, the ante-mortem weight vs. the carcass weight was taken into account, obtaining a 75.32% yield and an economic profit of 37.13%, an acceptable income for small and medium-sized producers.

El Chonta duro palma de la Amazonía ecuatoriana que se aprovecha su madera, el palmito y su fruta es muy nutritiva, esta última en temporada de cosecha, se puede aprovechar la sobre demanda, el rechazo del consumo humano, investigación que se realizó en el Centro de Investigación, Posgrado y Conservación Amazónica (CIPCA), el objetivo fué evaluar el comportamiento productivo y rendimiento a la canal de cerdos mestizos (Large white x Duroc x Cerdo criollo) alimentados con harina de chontaduro (Bactris gasipaes Kunth) en la etapa de levante, se utilizó 14 cerdos. Los animales iniciaron con un peso de 40 ± 2 kilogramos, se colocaron en cubículos independientes de manera estabulada, sé suministró una dieta compuesta con la inclusión del 20% de harina de chontaduro. Los resultados obtenidos fue de 60,64 kg en peso final, 1,87 kg consumo de alimento día, 0,58 kg GPD, 3,37 de C.A. Rendimiento de la canal se tomó en cuenta el peso ante mortem vs el peso a la canal, obteniendo un 75,32% de rendimiento y una utilidad económica del 37,13%, un ingreso aceptable para pequeños y medianos productores.
