SITIC 2025
III International Symposium on "Knowledge Generation and Transfer for Digital Transformation" (SITIC2025)
as part of the
5th International Scientific Convention on Science, Technology, and Society
Central University "Marta Abreu" of Las Villas
Villa Clara Keys, Cuba
October 20-24, 2025

Purpose and Scope of the Event
The development of modern societies cannot be conceived without informatization. The digital transformation of all socio-economic processes allows the increase of their efficiency and effectiveness, for which it is necessary the use of Advanced Industrialization Technologies, also called Enabling Technologies of digital transformation. This information-based revolution generates a continuous development of the formats and ways in which information is searched, retrieved, processed and used.
It is not possible to advance in this development environment without closing the R&D&I cycle, for which knowledge transfer plays a major role. The knowledge generated during research must be converted into useful technologies to solve problems and introduced into production processes. On the other hand, the development of innovative IT products and services, which will make it possible to achieve technological independence and the generation of exportable products, is not possible without the incorporation of new computational methods and from the company's own know-how.
The III Symposium “Generation and Transfer of Knowledge for Digital Transformation” is oriented to disseminate the main scientific results achieved in the field of information technologies and promote a framework for scientific exchange on these, within the academic-scientific center and from this with the productive and services sector; which ensures the updating of existing knowledge in this field and its transfer to different actors of society. In summary, the Symposium will be focused on cutting-edge technologies in Computing and the university-enterprise relationship in the field of IT based on knowledge transfer and innovation.
The event includes tutorial courses, specialized conferences and paper presentations.

AIoT and Semantic Web control models. Public services and Semantic Web applications based on AIoT. Architectures for Open and Linked Data in AIoT and Semantic Web. Use of learning and machine learning models and algorithms in AIoT and Semantic Web. Search and retrieval of information through AIoT and Semantic Web ecosystem.
Special Session:
As part of the Symposium, a Seminar on the topic “Trustworthy AI” will be developed. The accelerated development of applications of AI methods in solving socio-economic problems increasingly leads to the need to achieve a trustworthy and secure AI, and the establishment of clear lines for better governance of AI.
On the other hand, new developments in AI make it more complex to deal with these aspects; and give rise to other issues of analysis and projection related to the scope that this discipline will reach. One question today is whether we will move from weak (or narrow) AI to strong or general AI; and how far we can talk about the reasoning capacity of intelligent systems instead of a performance based only on pattern recognition. As a motivation for this debate, the article Google's ChessBench: a new era of chess and reasoning AI is recommended (https:// theconversation.com/chessbench-of-google-starts-a-new-era-of-chess-and-reasoning-AI-242606).
Dr. Francisco Herrera, Professor at the University of Granada, an internationally recognized expert, has been invited to coordinate these special sessions.
Those interested may submit papers, even if they are not completed research on these topics.
Rules for the submission of contributions and publications
Contributions must be original and must be adapted to the themes of the event. The contributions will be submitted to a review process by the scientific committee of the symposium and evaluated according to criteria of scientific rigor, timeliness and contribution to the areas of knowledge in the fundamental thematic axes.
The papers must be written according to the format established in the call for papers of the UCLV Scientific Convention 2025, in Spanish or English, with a maximum length of 6 pages. They should be uploaded to the symposium website.
There are several alternatives for the publication of accepted papers.
The abstracts of the accepted papers will be published in the convention proceedings under the Samuel Feijoó Publishing House of the Central University “Marta Abreu” of Las Villas, with ISBN.
In the case of papers related to Artificial Intelligence, whether they are applications or theoretical contributions in this field, a selection of papers will be made to be published in a volume of the Springer series “Communications in Computer and Information Science” (https://www.springer.com/series/7899), together with the papers approved for presentation at the international scientific event Workshop on Engineering Applications 2025 (WEA 2025) to be held in Colombia. Those interested in this option should send their papers written in English.
In the case of the International Semantic Web Workshop, it has been agreed with IG Global to publish the accepted papers in a book entitled “LLM, knowledge graphs and semantic web: revolutionizing data processing, knowledge extraction and AI capabilities”; where accepted papers in the area of Artificial Intelligence will also be considered. It will be referenced by Scopus.
The publication in scientific journals of extended versions of the papers will be managed, for which the papers will be selected according to their rigor and scientific level and according to the characteristics of the journal; among them Revista Cubana de Ciencias Informáticas (https://rcci.uci.cu), Revista Cubana de Transformación Digital (https://rctd.uic.cu) and Advanced Notes in Information Science (https://anis.pro-metrics.org).
