III International Symposium on “Generation and Transfer of Knowledge for Digital Transformation
SITIC 2025
III International Symposium on "Knowledge Generation and Transfer for Digital Transformation" (SITIC2025)
as part of the
5th International Scientific Convention on Science, Technology, and Society
Central University "Marta Abreu" of Las Villas
Villa Clara Keys, Cuba
October 20-24, 2025

Purpose and Scope of the Event
The development of modern societies is inconceivable without informatization. The digital transformation of all socio-economic processes enhances their efficiency and effectiveness, requiring the use of advanced industrialization technologies, also known as enabling technologies for digital transformation. This information-driven revolution continuously evolves the formats and methods used to search, retrieve, process, and utilize information.
Progress in this developmental environment is unattainable without closing the R&D&I cycle, where knowledge transfer plays a pivotal role. Knowledge generated during research must be transformed into practical technologies to solve problems and be integrated into production processes. Furthermore, the development of innovative IT products and services—essential for achieving technological independence and creating exportable products—is not feasible without adopting new computational methods and leveraging proprietary know-how.
The III Symposium on "Knowledge Generation and Transfer for Digital Transformation" aims to disseminate the main scientific achievements in the field of information technologies and foster a framework for scientific exchange on these topics, both within the academic-scientific community and between this community and the productive and service sectors. This approach ensures the updating of existing knowledge in this field and its transfer to various societal actors.
In summary, the symposium will focus on cutting-edge computing technologies and the university-business relationship in the IT field, emphasizing knowledge transfer and innovation.
The event will include tutorial courses, specialized lectures, and paper presentations.

Sub-event: III International Workshop on Technologies and Applications of Semantic Web in the Context of the Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT)
Interoperability between applications and devices. Usability and user experience in semantic web and AIoT application environments. Data representation and integration in AIoT and Semantic Web. Control models for AIoT and Semantic Web. Public services and Semantic Web applications based on AIoT. Architectures for open and linked data in AIoT and Semantic Web. Use of models and algorithms for learning and machine learning in AIoT and Semantic Web. Information search and retrieval through the AIoT and Semantic Web ecosystem.
Special Session:
As part of the symposium, a special session on the topic "AI Governance" will be held to discuss experiences and perspectives on the impact of AI implementation, its risks, and pathways for secure and responsible AI, including ethical and legal aspects. In this session, the presentation of works will be welcomed, even if they are not completed research projects on the topic.
Guidelines for Submission of Contributions and Publications:
Submissions must be original and aligned with the event's themes. Contributions will undergo a review process by the symposium's scientific committee and will be evaluated based on criteria of scientific rigor, relevance, and their contribution to the core thematic areas.
Submissions must be written in Spanish or English following the format specified in the call for the UCLV 2025 Scientific Convention and should not exceed 6 pages. They must be uploaded to the symposium's website.
Publication Options for Accepted Papers:
Various alternatives are available for publishing accepted works. The abstracts of accepted presentations will be published in the convention proceedings under the Samuel Feijóo Publishing House of the Central University "Marta Abreu" of Las Villas, with an ISBN.
For works related to artificial intelligence, whether applications or theoretical contributions in this field, a selection of papers will be published in a volume of the Springer series “Communications in Computer and Information Science” (https://www.springer.com/series/7899), together with papers approved for the international scientific event Workshop on Engineering Applications 2025 (WEA 2025) to be held in Colombia. Those interested in this option must submit their papers in English.
For the International Workshop on Semantic Web, an agreement with IG Global has been reached to publish accepted papers in a book titled “LLM, Knowledge Graphs, and Semantic Web: Revolutionizing Data Processing, Knowledge Extraction, and AI Capabilities”, which will also include accepted papers in the field of artificial intelligence. This book will be indexed in Scopus.
Efforts are being made to publish extended versions of selected presentations in scientific journals, based on their rigor and scientific level, and in accordance with the characteristics of the journals. Among these are the Revista Cubana de Ciencias Informáticas (https://rcci.uci.cu), the Revista Cubana de Transformación Digital (https://rctd.uic.cu), and Advanced Notes in Information Science (https://anis.pro-metrics.org).
Lectures and Tutorial Courses
Keynote lectures will be delivered either in person or virtually by renowned Cuban and international specialists, whose names will be announced later.
Pre-event courses will be offered virtually.
