IV Workshop “Challenges of Education 2025”
• Problematic situation: Forming competent professionals and contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) are among the current challenges of universities. In the Foreign Language Teacher Education Program at Universidad Central “Marta Abreu” de Las Villas (UCLV) teachers to be accomplish several tasks in order to meet such aims. However, there was a lack of integrative and motivating proposals with impacts on both, the formation of professionals and the communities.
• Objective: While building the Frenglish Community Project, researchers have evaluated its impact on the students and on the community where it is implemented. The current report aims at presenting the impacts of such project on the practicum and on the research activity of the students from the major at UCLV.
• Methodology: The Project has been built in a participant action research process. its impacts on the practicum and on the research activity of the students from Foreign Language Teacher Education Program have been determined through participant observation, the survey and the interview.
• Results and discussion: The results show positive impacts on both, the practicum and the research activity of the students from all academic years of the major. This illustrates a significant contribution to the development of the mode of professional identity performance (MPIP)
• Conclusions: The project constitutes an integrative, motivating proposal and shows the potentials of the educative activity of teachers. Such project notably contributes to the development of the MPIP, with substantial impacts on the practicum and on the research activity of future teachers.
• Problemática: La formación de profesionales competentes y la contribución al logro de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS), se encuentran entre los retos de las universidades. En la Licenciatura en Educación en Lenguas Extranjeras en la Universidad Central “Marta Abreu” de Las Villas (UCLV), los futuros profesores realizan diversas tareas con tales fines. Sin embargo, se carecía de propuestas integradoras y motivantes con impactos tanto en la formación de los profesionales como en las comunidades
• Objetivo(s): Durante la construcción del proyecto comunitario Frenglish se ha ido evaluando su impacto tanto en los estudiantes como en la comunidad donde se implementa. El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo exponer sus impactos en la práctica laboral y en la actividad investigativa de los estudiantes de la Carrera en la UCLV.
• Metodología: El proyecto se ha construido con un enfoque de investigación acción participación. Sus impactos en la actividad laboral e investigativa en la formación de profesores de lenguas extranjeras en la UCLV se han determinado a través de la observación participante, encuestas y entrevistas.
• Resultados y discusión: Los resultados muestran impactos positivos tanto en la actividad laboral como en la investigativa de los estudiantes de todos los años de la Carrera. Ello evidencia una significativa contribución al desarrollo del modo de actuación profesional identitario (MAPI).
• Conclusiones: El proyecto constituye una propuesta integradora, motivante y evidencia las potencialidades de la labor educativa del docente. Este contribuye notablemente al desarrollo del MAPI, con impactos significativos en la actividad laboral e investigativa de los futuros profesores.
