Design of an APK need study on dispensary formulation in community pharmacies in Santa Clara

Abstract

Introduction: In the current context of pharmaceutical practice in Cuba, the service of dispensary formulation continues to be one of the fundamental services provided in community pharmacies with a dispensary, but it is not sufficiently exploited. One of the causes of the poor development of this health service is the limited access to specific sources of information on the subject. The objective of this study was to design a study to evaluate the need for an APK on dispensary formulation in community pharmacies, based on the needs of pharmacists and doctors in the municipality of Santa Clara.
Methods: The Delphi method was proposed for the determination, in a first stage, of the contents that will be considered in the APK, and a survey to confirm these contents, the structure and the need of the APK.
Results The proposed plan to carry out the needs study of an APK will allow for the satisfactory design, conduct and evaluation of the needs study. The proposed study, using the Delphi method with experts and the survey of doctors and pharmacists, will make it possible to adequately select the contents on dispensary formulation that should be part of the APK, the structure that satisfies the preferences of the professionals directly linked to this service, as well as the usefulness of this information resource for the professionals involved in this service.

Resumen

Introducción: En el contexto actual de la práctica farmacéutica en Cuba, el servicio de formulación dispensarial sigue siendo uno de los fundamentales brindados en las farmacias comunitarias con dispensario, sin embargo no se explota suficientemente. Una de las causas del poco desarrollo de este servicio de salud está en el limitado acceso a fuentes de información específicas sobre la temática. El presente trabajo tuvo como objetivo: diseñar un estudio para la evaluación de la necesidad de una APK, sobre formulación dispensarial en farmacias comunitarias, en función de las necesidades de farmacéuticos y médicos del municipio Santa Clara.
Método: Se propuso el método Delphi para la determinación, en una primera etapa, de los contenidos que serán considerados en la APK, y una encuesta para confirmar estos contenidos, la estructura y la necesidad de la APK.
Resultados: El plan propuesto para realizar el estudio de necesidades de una APK permitirá diseñar, conducir y evaluar satisfactoriamente el estudio de necesidades. El estudio propuesto, empleando el método Delphi con expertos y la encuesta a médicos y farmacéuticos, permitirá seleccionar adecuadamente los contenidos sobre formulación dispensarial que deben formar parte de APK, la estructura que satisfaga las preferencias de los profesionales directamente vinculados a este servicio, así como la utilidad de este recurso informacional para los profesionales implicados en este servicio.
