Simposio Internacional “Desarrollo Humano, Equidad y Justicia Social"
The present work is a partial scientific result of a qualitative historical investigation that addresses the educational and patriotic trajectory of Carmen Gutiérrez Morillo, a representative figure of the Santa Clara town from the colonial period and the first years of the Neocolonial Republic. Teacher of great professionalism and prestige, who from a very young age knew how to unite her love for the country with the teaching profession and made common cause with the liberators at the beginning of the war of independence in 1895. Founder and president of the revolutionary Club Hermanas de Juan Bruno Zayas, whose objective The fundamental one consisted in providing aid to the troops of the Liberation Army and those concentrated in Santa Clara. He suffered imprisonment because of an accusation, but he did not stop fighting until he saw Cuba's independence from the Spanish colonial yoke. Its objective is: to explain the teaching and patriotic activity present in the life and work of Carmen Gutiérrez Morillo. For its realization, different methods of the theoretical and empirical level were used.
El presente trabajo es un resultado científico parcial de una investigación cualitativa de corte histórico que aborda la trayectoria educativa y patriótica de Carmen Gutiérrez Morillo, figura representativa de la localidad santaclareña del período colonial y primeros años de la República Neocolonial. Maestra de gran profesionalidad y prestigio, quien desde muy joven supo unir al magisterio su amor por la patria e hizo causa común con los libertadores al iniciarse la guerra de independencia de 1895. Fundadora y presidenta del Club revolucionario Hermanas de Juan Bruno Zayas, cuyo objetivo fundamental consistía en prestar ayuda a las tropas del Ejército Libertador y a los reconcentrados en Santa Clara. Sufrió prisión a causa de una delación, pero no dejó de luchar hasta ver lograda la independencia de Cuba del yugo colonial español. Tiene como objetivo: explicar la actividad magisterial y patriótica presente en la vida y obra de Carmen Gutiérrez Morillo. Para su realización se recurrió a diferentes métodos del nivel teórico y del empírico.
