Simposio Internacional “Desarrollo Humano, Equidad y Justicia Social"

The preservation of the patrimony musical Cuban constitutes an essential task for the Cuban society, because the music like it allows to express facts, customs, traditions and ethical, aesthetic and moral values, singular and collective, in a certain time. All that which forms part of the cultural identity of each town or nation. It is necessary to teach the local thing as part of the national thing, to teach the national thing as part of a bigger universe, the regional thing. Of there the importance that each girl, boy, man or woman know the main representatives of their culture. It is for it that this work, fruit of the author's investigation, has as objective to disclose the life and the contributions to the musical patrimony of an artist and humble maestroholguinero: Francisco Sánchez Ávila (Lele), musician, writer, teacher and composer, considered the father of the percussion in the oriental part of the island. The information for the realization of this biography was obtained by different roads. The most important was the systematic interview with this excellent musician, composer and teacher of concert music and popular; as well as to many of their students and co-workers. The approaches of personalities of the musical sphere and others of the culture holguinera and national they were sources of obligatory consultation. The content of this report is part of study programs related with the artistic education in the careers Primary Education, artistic Education and Marxism and History in the university of Holguín.
