Hygienic models were created by man to promote public hygiene and reduce the effects on public health. The hospital for highly contagious diseases "sanatorium", the public cemetery and the urban sewage system are the most famous. The absence or malfunction of any of them can generate negative impacts on the environmental balance, hygiene and public health. The general objective of the research is to demonstrate the high effectiveness of these three models in maintaining citizen health. The historical - logical, inductive - deductive method, content analysis, as well as observation, recording and statistical techniques were used. It was found that the three aforementioned hygienist models constitute essential components for assisting healthy cities and citizens, even more so in the face of the challenges imposed by COVID-19 worldwide.
Los modelos higienistas fueron creados por el hombre para promover la higiene pública y reducir las afectaciones a la salud ciudadana. El hospital para enfermedades altamente contagiosas "sanatorio", el cementerio público y el sistema de alcantarillado urbano son los más célebres. La ausencia o mal funcionamiento de cualquiera de ellos puede generar impactos negativos en el equilibrio medioambiental, higiene y salud pública. El objetivo general de la investigación es demostrar la alta efectividad de estos tres modelos en el mantenimiento de salud ciudadana. Se empleó el método histórico – lógico, el inductivo – deductivo, análisis de contenido, así como técnicas de observación, registro y estadísticas. Se comprobó que los tres modelos higienistas referidos constituyen componentes indispensables para la asistencia a ciudades y ciudadanos saludables, más aún ante los retos impuestos por la covid 19 a nivel mundial.
