The necessity to create spaces and improve habitat conditions in the rural environment with natural building materials indicates acting in favor of related technologies. Rustic wood belongs to construction traditions and is an ecological, economical and resistant option in accordance with our climate conditions. In the world, bamboo is used as a construction material with encouraging results, due to its innumerable advantages it is a viable alternative in houses and in particular in the rural environment where this plant grows and develops. This work has the objective to define the design criteria in construction technologies with the use of rustic wood and bamboo in rural houses in the territory, which collaborate with the sustainability of the environment.
The technical criteria for the use of rustic wood and bamboo are based on their experience of use both in Cuba and Latin American countries. The general elements of the architectural design process for rural housing are studied. The space-functional, physical-environmental, technical-constructive and formal aspects that can be applied under the construction technology of the use of these materials have been considered. Design variants are proposed that express the versatility of bamboo in construction. The aspiration is to rescue the productive traditions, the use of sustainable technologies, the consolidation of the identity and the preservation of the natural environment of the communities.
La necesidad de crear espacios y mejorar las condiciones del hábitat en el entorno rural con materiales de construcción naturales, indica actuar a favor de tecnologías afines. La madera rústica pertenece a las tradiciones constructivas y es una opción ecológica, económica, resistente y acorde con nuestras condiciones de clima. En el mundo se emplea el bambú como material de construcción con resultados alentadores, por sus innumerables ventajas es una alternativa viable en viviendas y en particular en el entorno rural donde crece y se desarrolla esta planta. Este trabajo tiene como objetivo: definir los criterios de diseño en las tecnologías constructivas con el empleo de la madera rústica y el bambú en viviendas rurales en el territorio, que colaboran con la sostenibilidad del medio ambiente.
Se fundamentan los criterios técnicos para el uso de la madera rústica y del bambú por su experiencia de uso tanto en Cuba como en países de América Latina. Se estudian los elementos generales del proceso de diseño arquitectónico para la vivienda rural en Cuba. Se han considerado los aspectos espacio-funcionales, físico-ambientales, técnico-constructivos y formales que pueden ser aplicados bajo la tecnología constructiva que emplea estos materiales. Se proponen variantes de diseño que expresan la versatilidad del bambú en la construcción. Se aspira al rescate de las tradiciones productivas, al uso de tecnologías sostenibles, al afianzamiento de la identidad y a la preservación del entorno natural de las comunidades.
