Abstract
The object of this study are the cultural practices that are carried out in the El Mejunje Cultural Center, which is of greater importance when it comes to understanding the ways of life, thought, identity and culture of a society like the Santa Clara through its cultural expressions. Hence the need for a study that is responsible for defining these cultural practices to better understand them, understanding that they provide an opportunity for the enrichment of society through active participation in all social and cultural processes. In this way, the present qualitative research is based on the theoretical-conceptual foundations of cultural practices, cultural identity and culture as an expression of social reality with the aim of describing the cultural practices of El Mejunje, through the elements that characterize these cultural practices. To achieve satisfactory results in the research, participant observation, semi-structured and open interview and document analysis were applied to collect information. In this sense, it allows to know the characteristic elements that are expressed through the practices of cultural consumption given by the participation in the spaces that the center offers.
Resumen
El objeto de este estudio son las prácticas culturales que se llevan a cabo en el Centro Cultural El Mejunje, el cual reviste una importancia mayor a la hora de comprender los modos de vida, de pensamiento, la identidad y la cultura de una sociedad como la santaclareña a través de sus expresiones culturales. De ahí la necesidad de un estudio que se encargue de definir dichas prácticas culturales para comprenderlas mejor entendiendo que aportan una oportunidad para el enriquecimiento de la sociedad a través de la activa participación en todos los procesos sociales y culturales. De esta forma, la presente investigación de naturaleza cualitativa se sustenta en los fundamentos teórico-conceptuales sobre las prácticas culturales, la identidad cultural y la cultura como expresión de la realidad social con el objetivo de Describir las prácticas culturales de El Mejunje, a través de los elementos que caracterizan dichas prácticas culturales. Para el logro de resultados satisfactorios en la investigación se aplicaron la observación participante, la entrevista semiestructurada y abierta y el análisis de documentos para la recogida de información. En tal sentido, permite conocer los elementos característicos que se expresan a través de las prácticas de consumo cultural dadas por la participación en los espacios que brinda el centro.
