In this work, a risk assessment was carried out in the Laboratory of the ¨Antonio Guiteras¨ Thermoelectric Power Plant in Matanzas to know its main dangers and propose a series of measures to prevent them and thus mitigate those that may have the greatest effect on health from the workers. Firstly, the William Fine Method was executed to determine the degree of danger, resulting in the Chemical Risk being the highest degree. Next, the COSSH Essentials Method was carried out, where the results obtained correspond to the fact that the substances Tetrahydrated Ammonium Molybdate and Mercury Chloride are the ones with the greatest risk for workers because they penetrate the body more easily, causing fatal consequences. As proposed alternatives for the prevention and eradication of risks in the laboratory, we highlight as the most important the use of a laboratory coat, protective gloves, a mask and frequent hand washing after performing the analyses.
En este trabajo se realizó una evaluación de riesgos en el Laboratorio de la Central Termoeléctrica ¨Antonio Guiteras¨ de Matanzas para conocer sus principales peligros y plantear una serie de medidas para prevenir los mismos y lograr así mitigar los que puedan tener mayor efecto sobre la salud de los trabajadores. Primeramente, se ejecutó el Método de William Fine para saber el grado de peligrosidad, resultando el Riesgo Químico el de mayor grado. A continuación, se llevó a cabo el Método COSSH Essentials donde los resultados obtenidos corresponden a que las sustancias Molibdato de Amonio Tetrahidratado y el Cloruro de Mercurio son los de mayor riesgo para los trabajadores porque penetran con mayor facilidad al organismo provocando consecuencias mortales. Como alternativas propuestas para la prevención y erradicación de los riesgos en el laboratorio destacamos como las más importantes el uso de la bata de laboratorio, los guantes de protección, el nasobuco y el lavado frecuente de las manos después de realizar los análisis.
