The main objective of the paper is to argue and exemplify with reliable paremiological data the importance of the Canarian component in the orality and identity of rural peasant speech, together with other essential legacies that shaped it such as lullabies, narrations, the tenth, the controversy, auguries, witches' tales, etc.

With such purpose, it has been collected by means of interviews and onomasiological and semasiological questionnaires applied to representative informants of the rural speech of Sancti Spiritus and Villa Clara a nourished paremiological corpus that, from a dialectal synchronic analysis of contrastive character and supported in diverse works on the Spanish and Cuban phraseology, it has been possible to corroborate the structural and semantic coincidences between the Canary Islands and Cuba. Several researchers are currently carrying out contrastive analyses between regional modalities of Spanish, both from a synchronic and diachronic perspective (Koike, Corpas, Mellado, Pamies, Mogorrón, Montoro, Alfaro, Echenique, Ortega, Corrales, Corbella). The proposed research can be used to establish reliable scientific criteria in the analysis of paremiological coincidences and intralinguistic phraseological variation and provides specific linguistic data of interest for the knowledge of common points in the peasant oral tradition of Cuba and the Canary Islands. The argument concludes that such phraseological coincidences are no more than reflections of shared linguistic identities in the same historical process of transculturation from the secular migratory movement between both regions.
