THE MAGNETIC FIELD AND HEAT CAPACITY OF AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS

Abstract

Two experiments are carried out in which a static magnetic field (MF) of moderate intensity is applied to a sugar solution with the aim of verifying the variation in its temperature with and without the application of MF. In a first experiment, the solution is prepared using water and refined sugar, the temperature values of the thermostat used for its heating are compared with the temperature of the solution with and without the application of the MF with an average intensity value of 70 mT, a second experiment under similar conditions uses alkalized juice from a sugar factory, with an average intensity value of MF of 170 mT. As a result, it is obtained that the MF causes an increase in the caloric capacity of the juice, which is manifested in a higher temperature value of the magnetically treated juice compared to the untreated one.

Resumen

Se desarrollan dos experimentos en los que se aplica un campo magnético (CM) estático de moderada intensidad a una solución azucarada con el objetivo de verificar la variación de su temperatura con y sin la aplicación del CM. En un primer experimento se prepara la solución utilizando agua y azúcar refino, se comparan los valores de temperatura del termostato utilizado para su calentamiento con la temperatura de la solución con y sin la aplicación del CM con valor de intensidad media de 107,2 mT, un segundo experimento en condiciones similares se utiliza jugo alcalizado de una fábrica de azúcar, con valor de intensidad media de CM de 170,6 mT. Como resultado se obtiene que el CM provoca el aumento de la capacidad calórica del jugo, lo que se manifiesta en un mayor valor de temperatura del jugo tratado magnéticamente en comparación con el no tratado.
