During the second half of the 1930s, Cuban women had achieved active participation in Cuban civic life. Although some social organizations existed, one considered one of the most significant was created: the National Federation of Women's Associations of Cuba in 1921, of which the educator Rita Gregoria Aguilera Batista was a member. The pedagogical and scientific training of this historic figure allowed her to develop an ideal of a just society: she was a member of the PCC (Spanish Communist Party), standing out as a grassroots leader. She was also a leader of various associations, such as the Communist Youth League, and participated in the teachers' strike in March 1935. With the triumph of the Revolution, she enrolled in a degree in Philosophy and Literature at the Marta Abreu Central University in Las Villas, joined the literacy program, founded the CDR (Centres for the Defense of Women), and served as vice president of the FMC (FMC) in Santa Clara. Her life was exemplary for her generation until her death in 1978. The research was conducted through interviews and a search for historical documents that demonstrate the significance and importance of this outstanding fighter.
En el contexto de la segunda mitad de los años 30 las mujeres cubanas habían alcanzado una participación activa en la vida cívica cubana. A pesar de existir algunas organizaciones sociales se crea la que se considera una de las más significativas: la Federación Nacional de Asociaciones Femeninas de Cuba en 1921,de la cual formó parte la pedagoga Rita Gregoria Aguilera Batista. La formación pedagógica y científica de esta personalidad histórica permitió desarrollar un ideal de una sociedad justa: se encontraba entre las filas del PCC destacándose como dirigente base, fue también líder de diversas asociaciones, como La Liga Juvenil Comunista y participó en la huelga de los maestros en Marzo de 1935. Con el triunfo de la Revolución matricula en la carrera de Filosofía y Letras en la Universidad Central “Marta Abreu” de Las Villas, se incorporó a la alfabetización, fue fundadora de los CDR, vicepresidenta de la FMC en Santa Clara. Su vida fue un ejemplo en su generación hasta su fallecimiento en 1978. La investigación fue desarrollada mediante entrevistas y la búsqueda de documentos históricos en los cuales se constata el significado e importancia de esta destacada luchadora.
