The 4G network is going to continue to be very important and will continue to evolve. So, when we think about 5G and how to design the network of the future we have to know that we are going to have both simultaneously and that the network has to have low latency and be very reliable" [1], operators must ask themselves at least three basic questions: What use cases do I want to offer? What spectrum do I have and what deployment model is most efficient for each objective? However, beyond these basic questions, the deployment and evolution of a telecommunications network is impossible in a total way, it must be done in a scalable way and many times the beginning is conditioned by causes that push it to make decisions, even when the conditions are not the most ideal. This paper will address how the operator ETECSA implements a 5G core in its first stage of development that will coexist and support the current services of 4G networks.
La red 4G va a seguir siendo muy importante y seguirá evolucionando. Por lo tanto cuando pensamos en 5G y en cómo diseñar la red del futuro tenemos que saber que vamos a tener las dos en simultáneo y que la red tiene que tener baja latencia y ser muy fiable” [1], los operadores deben hacerse al menos tres preguntas básicas: ¿Qué casos de uso quiero ofrecer? ¿Con qué espectro cuento y qué modelo de despliegue es más eficiente para cada objetivo? Sin embargo, más allá de estas preguntas básicas, el despliegue y evolución de una red de telecomunicaciones es imposible de forma total, debe hacerse de forma escalable y muchas veces el comienzo está condicionado por causas que lo empujan a tomar desiciones, aun cuando las condiciones no son las más ideales. En este trabajo se abordará cómo la operadora ETECSA implementa un núcleo de 5G en su primera etapa de desarrollo que convivirá y dará soporte a los servicios actuales de las redes 4G.
