Absorbed Dose Simulation in MRT by using the free code software GEANT4: GATE

Abstract

This paper aims to develop a project to create a code source for a very basic cylindric phantom with uniform Activity using the application of GATE in MC simulation of absorbed doses in Molecular Radiotherapy, (MRT). Obtained results show non-uniform distribution of dose, within a uniform Activity and an approximated 2% of uncertainty, (in well correspondence with reported data), which allow to confirm that the use of GATE is reliable, has a low computational cost and is highly desirable.

Resumen

El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo el crear un código fuente para un proyecto de aplicación del programa GATE en la simulación de la dosis absorbida por Montecarlo en RadioTerapia Molecular, (en buena correspondencia con los valores reportados en la literatura), permiten afirmar que la simulación de dosis por medio de la plataforma GATE es confiable, de poco gasto computacional y por ello altamente recomendable.
