Abstract
• Problematic: At the Central University “Marta Abreu” of Las Villas (UCLV), during the COVID-19 pandemic period it was necessary to make modifications to the study plans. This work became more complex and there was an overload of work for people who also carried out other teaching, methodological and management functions. We had to face the lack of resources for the repeated printing of the required documentation and the necessary control of the critical path of the process, while the delivery of legal documents, for which there is a processing period, was threatened with delay.
• Goal(s): Develop a computer tool for managing modifications to the study plans at the Central University “Marta Abreu” of Las Villas.
• Methodology: The research will be developed based on resolutions and legal standards of the MES and agile software development methodologies.
• Results and discussion: An executable version is obtained that allows you to request a modification to the study plan of a specific degree and process and validate said request at the corresponding levels. Documents associated with the modifications are also generated to guarantee the legal value of the procedures.
• Conclusions: With the selection of an agile methodology and the use of current technology such as ProcessMaker, the process of modifying the study plans is modeled and implemented and deployed on the university servers, accessible from the university network.
Resumen
• Problemática: En la Universidad Central “Marta Abreu” de Las Villas (UCLV), durante el período de pandemia COVID-19 fue necesario realizar modificaciones a los planes de estudio. Esta labor se complejizó y ocurrió una sobrecarga de trabajo a personas que además realizaban otras funciones docentes, metodológicas y de dirección. Hubo que enfrentar la carencia de recursos para la repetida impresión de la documentación requerida y el necesario control de la ruta crítica del proceso, en tanto, la entrega de documentos legales, para los cuales existe un período de tramitación, tenía amenaza de atraso.
• Objetivo(s): Desarrollar una herramienta informática para la gestión de modificaciones a los planes de estudio en la Universidad Central “Marta Abreu” de Las Villas.
• Metodología: La investigación se desarrollará en base a resoluciones y normas legales del MES y metodologías ágiles de desarrollo de software.
Resultados y discusión: Se obtiene una versión ejecutable que permite solicitar una modificación al plan de estudios de una carrera determinada y tramitar y validar dicha solicitud en los niveles correspondientes. Se generan además documentos asociados a las modificaciones para garantizar el valor legal de los trámites.
• Conclusiones: Con la selección de una metodología ágil y la utilización de tecnología actuales como ProcessMaker se modela e implementa el proceso de modificación a los planes de estudio y se despliega en los servidores de la universidad, accesible desde la red universitaria.
