UCB-Libraries Technology Project

Abstract

Problematic:
It has not been possible to implement an INTEGRATED LIBRARY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, which allows unifying the use of international standards and appropriate tools, to provide services to end users and avoid unnecessary duplication of efforts in the different Headquarters libraries. Goals: Strengthen the National Library System, to incorporate Regulations, Organizational Structure of the SNB and National Acquisition and Subscription of virtual resources; Implement an Integrated System of UCB Libraries (KOHA); Develop a UCB National Library System Web Page, as a tool that brings together all university services to support learning, teaching and research that benefit the UCB academic community. Methodology: For the development, writing and approval of the project, the PMBOK tool was used, according to the definitions of the PMBOK, a project is a temporary effort undertaken to create a unique product, service or result. (Siddle, 2022). Conclusions:
A sustainability project must be proposed for the SINAB-UCB, the universities maintain education, research and links with society as their main objectives and the UCB National Library System is in charge of supporting these activities, its purpose is to allocate resources for scientific-technical innovation and the conservation of information to provide users with an efficient, quality service, with quick access to information and support for research, through training tools and regulations regarding the research process.

Resumen

Problemática: No se ha logrado implementar un SISTEMA INTEGRADO DE GESTIÓN BIBLIOTECARIA, que permita unificar el uso de estándares internacionales y herramientas apropiadas, para brindar servicios a los usuarios finales y evitar la duplicación innecesaria de esfuerzos en las diferentes bibliotecas de Sede.Objetivo(s): Fortalecer el Sistema Nacional de Bibliotecas, para incorporar Normativa, Estructura organizacional del SNB y Adquisición y Suscripción nacional de recursos virtuales; Implementar un Sistema Integrado de Bibliotecas UCB (KOHA); Desarrollar una Página Web Sistema Nacional de Bibliotecas UCB, como herramienta que reúna todos los servicios universitarios para el apoyo al aprendizaje, la docencia y la investigación que beneficien a la comunidad académica de la UCB. Metodología: Para el desarrollo, redacción y aprobación del proyecto, se utilizó la herramienta PMBOK, según las definiciones del PMBOK, un proyecto es un esfuerzo temporal emprendido para crear un producto, servicio o resultado único. (Sydle, 2022). Conclusiones: Se debe plantear un proyecto de sostenibilidad para el SINAB-UCB, las universidades mantienen como principales objetivos la educación, la investigación y la vinculación con la sociedad y es el Sistema Nacional de Bibliotecas UCB el encargado de apoyar estas actividades, su propósito es destinar recursos para la innovación científico-técnica y la conservación de la información para brindar a los usuarios un servicio eficiente, de calidad, con rápido acceso a la información y apoyo a la investigación, mediante la capacitación de herramientas y normativa referente al proceso de investigación.
