Bases for the implementation of a quality management system in the materials laboratories of the Faculty of Construction of the UCLV.

Abstract

Throughout its history, the Martha Abreu de las Villas Central University has achieved standards of excellence at all levels, in this sense and in line with the country's strategy of increasingly linking universities to the development of the nation, Its Faculty of Construction and specifically its Structures and Materials Research Center (CIDEM) offers to different companies a range of services ranging from quality control of different raw materials to the development of numerous projects based on the formulation of new cementitious materials used in the construction industry, thanks to the innovative research carried out from its facilities. In general, the analysis of these materials is carried out in the laboratories of the faculty, which in terms of analytical requirements are obliged to work with the exquisiteness and quality demanded by customers, which generates a high degree of reliability in the service provided and increases its value in the national and international market. The purpose of this research focuses on conceiving a plan aimed at the subsequent implementation of a Quality Management System (QMS) based on the ISO 17025: 2017 standard that covers both the CIDEM and the faculty laboratories, to achieve this, a diagnosis of their current status was made, and several aspects of utmost importance that will allow their subsequent accreditation were addressed.

Resumen

La Universidad Central Martha Abreu de las Villas a través de su historia ha alcanzado estándares de excelencia a todos los niveles, en tal sentido y al corresponder con la estrategia del país de vincular cada vez más las universidades al desarrollo de la nación, su facultad de Construcciones y en específico su Centro de Investigaciones de Estructuras y Materiales (CIDEM) le ofrece a distintas empresas una gama de servicios varios que van desde el control de la calidad de diferentes materias primas hasta el desarrollo de numerosos proyectos que tienen como base la formulación de nuevos materiales cementicios empleados en la industria de la construcción, gracias a las novedosas investigaciones realizadas desde sus instalaciones. Por lo general los análisis de estos materiales se realizan en los laboratorios de la facultad, los cuales en materia de exigencias analítica están obligados a trabajar con la exquisitez y calidad que exigen los clientes, lo que genera un alto grado de confiablidad en el servicio prestado y aumenta su valor en el mercado nacional e internacional. El propósito de esta investigación se centra en concebir un plan orientado a la posterior implementación de un Sistema de Gestión de la Calidad (SGC) a partir de la norma ISO 17025: 2017 que abarque tanto el CIDEM como los laboratorios de la facultad, para lograrlo se realizó un diagnóstico del estado actual de los mismos, y se abordaron varios aspectos de suma importancia que permitirán su posterior acreditación.
