Human aging is a multifactorial process defined as the progressive loss of function and is associated with physical, mental, psychomotor, and social changes that can impact the psychological well-being of older adults. Therefore, research aimed at improving quality of life in old age is relevant.
This study aimed to validate an intervention plan to enhance the psychological well-being of older adults through expert judgment. The dimensions involved in Psychological Well-being were explored, using the Ryff Scale adapted to the Ecuadorian context as a reference. The concordance and consistency of the items used were validated using the content validity index.
After the instrument was reviewed by experts to ensure validity and consistency with the criteria of relevance, clarity, and pertinence in each item of the Psychological Well-being categories, relative validity was found, except for one of the items that was valued at less than 0.70, which is why it had to be reformulated; all the others exceeded the critical values.
