Systematization of the foundations of student-centered methodologies in Automatic Engineering

At Universidad Central “Marta Abreu” de las Villas, the Project "Introduction of New
Teaching and Learning Methodologies in the Automation Engineering Career, which is
expressed as a need in Cuban Higher Education, the integral formation of the
professional, the academic efficiency and the diversification of the formation processes,
especially in careers of Technical Sciences, where it has being developed. Introducing
new teaching methodologies in university has become a challenge for teachers,
however, the systematization of these experiences has not been achieved with the
necessary depth and breadth to be able to justify the changes mentioned all over the
process. The systematization of experiences allows the reconstruction and valorization
of knowledge and experiences in terms of implementation, as well as helping to identify
issues between the project and the process, which it facilitates the documentation of
these experiences, the elaboration of materials and the identification and formulation of
what it has been learned. The objective of this research focuses on the clarification of
the theoretical foundations that justify the proposal of student-centered teachinglearning methodologies in this area. The qualitative methodology has been used and the
actions to focalize the object of study have been specified, stablished in the lack of
theoretical information in the field of didactics and on the foundations of the
experiences that are proposed. It has been possible to determine the current state in the
development of the teaching-learning process in the Automation Career of this
university.

En la Universidad Central “Marta Abreu” de Las Villas, se desarrolla el Proyecto
“Introducción de Nuevas Metodologías de enseñanza y aprendizaje de la Carrera de
Ingeniería en Automática, que expresa como necesidad de la Educación Superior en
Cuba, la formación integral del profesional, la eficiencia académica y la diversificación
de los procesos de formación, especialmente en carreras de Ciencias Técnicas.
Introducir nuevas metodologías de enseñanza en las aulas universitarias se ha
convertido en todo un reto para los docentes, sin embargo, la sistematización de estás
experiencias no se ha logrado con la profundidad y amplitud necesaria para poder
justificar los cambios en el mencionado proceso. Llevar a cabo la sistematización de
experiencias permite reconstruir, valorizar los saberes y los conocimientos desde la
experiencia, además de contribuir a identificar las tensiones entre el proyecto y el
proceso, todo lo cual facilita la documentación acerca de dichas experiencias, elaborar
materiales e identificar y formular lo aprendido. El objetivo del trabajo se centra en el
esclarecimiento de los sustentos teóricos que justifican la propuesta de las metodologías
de enseñanza aprendizaje centradas en el estudiante en la mencionada Carrera. Se ha
empleado la metodología cualitativa y se han precisado las acciones para precisar el
objeto de estudio concretado en la carencia de información teórica en el campo de la
didáctica y de los fundamentos de las experiencias que se proponen. Se ha podido
precisar cuál es el estado actual del desarrollo del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje en
de la Carrera de Automática de esta universidad.
