Abstract
The management of audiovisual materials generated at UCLV with the basic resources offered by computer systems, such as hierarchy and folder order, hinders the effective organization and agile management of this institution's audiovisual heritage.
This work focuses on developing an Audiovisual Digital Repository at the Martha Abreu de las Villas Central University (UCLV) that allows audiovisual materials to be stored under a standard, in an archival management system that allows for agile and complete retrieval of content.
Based on the requirements, the study of archival management systems to select the most appropriate for this purpose, and with a software engineering approach, this work is structured.
AtoM was selected, allowing efforts to focus on customizing and configuring the software to adapt it to the specific needs of UCLV; it was installed using Vagrant and Oracle VirtualBox, and configured and customized according to the university's needs. This creates an audiovisual repository for the UCLV that solves the current problems of dispersion, loss, and disorganization of audiovisual materials, guaranteeing the historical memory of events.
The UCLV Digital Audiovisual Repository represents a significant advance that strengthens the university's capacity to effectively manage and preserve its audiovisual resources, ensuring their accessibility and usefulness for the future. This work sets an important precedent and offers valuable guidance for future projects in the field of digital archive management, with an emphasis on audiovisual materials.
Resumen
La gestión de los materiales audiovisuales generados en la UCLV con los recursos básicos que ofrecen los sistemas informáticos, de jerarquía y orden de carpetas entorpece la organización efectiva y gestión ágil del patrimonio audiovisual de esta institución.
Este trabajo se centra en desarrollar un Repositorio Digital Audiovisual en la Universidad Central Martha Abreu de las Villas (UCLV) que permita almacenar los materiales audiovisuales bajo un estándar, en un gestor archivístico que permita una recuperación ágil y completa de los contenidos.
A partir de los requerimientos, el estudio de los sistemas de gestión archivística para seleccionar el más adecuado para este propósito, y con un enfoque desde la ingeniería del software se estructura este trabajo.
Se seleccionó AtoM, permitiendo enfocar los esfuerzos en la personalización y configuración del software para adaptarlo a las necesidades específicas de la UCLV; se instaló utilizando Vagrant y Oracle VirtualBox, se configuró y personalizó según las necesidades de la universidad. Así se obtiene un repositorio audiovisual para la UCLV que da solución a los problemas actuales de dispersión, pérdida y desorganización de los materiales audiovisuales garantizando la memoria histórica de los eventos.
El Repositorio Digital Audiovisual de la UCLV representa un avance significativo que fortalece la capacidad de la universidad para gestionar y preservar sus recursos audiovisuales de manera efectiva, asegurando su accesibilidad y utilidad para el futuro. Este trabajo un precedente importante y ofrece una guía valiosa para futuros proyectos en el campo de la gestión digital de archivos, con énfasis en los audiovisuales.
