The work addresses issues related to inventory management, its importance for organizations and the need for them to face an increasingly competitive environment. It is carried out in the Cuban Company of Airports and Airport Services, ECASA, of the Abel Santamaría International Airport in the city of Santa Clara, with the aim of applying a tool for inventory management in said company, which allows to minimize costs and raise the level of customer service. Currently in the company there is no inventory management system, responding to this situation is a strategic objective of the company, and according to the experts the main problem to be solved. The result is the application of the procedure for the design of an SGI carried out by Primelles Pupo, I (2009) and modified by Pérez Rodríguez, E (2018). The main tool used was Microsoft Excel software to calculate the parameters of each inventory management model. Correct inventory management is a key element for UEB ECASA, which is why the proposed procedure constitutes a powerful tool to facilitate the differentiated treatment of articles that have a marked interest, with the calculation of the models proposed for the administration of inventories in the most economical way possible for the entity under study.
El trabajo aborda temas referidos a la gestión de inventarios, su importancia para las organizaciones y la necesidad de los mismos para enfrentarse a un entorno cada vez más competitivo. Se lleva a cabo en la Empresa Cubana de Aeropuertos y Servicios Aeroportuarios, ECASA, del Aeropuerto internacional Abel Santamaría de la ciudad de Santa Clara, con el objetivo de aplicar una herramienta para la gestión del inventario en dicha empresa, que permita minimizar los costos y elevar nivel del servicio al cliente. Actualmente en la empresa no existe ningún sistema de gestión de inventario, dar respuesta a esta situación es un objetivo estratégico de la empresa, y según los expertos el principal problema a resolver. Se obtiene como resultado la aplicación del procedimiento para diseño de un SGI realizado por Primelles Pupo, I (2009) y modificado por Pérez Rodríguez, E (2018). La principal herramienta utilizada fue el software Microsoft Excel para el cálculo de los parámetros de cada modelo de gestión de inventarios. La correcta gestión de inventarios es un elemento clave para la UEB ECASA, es por ello que el procedimiento propuesto constituye una poderosa herramienta para facilitar el tratamiento diferenciado de los artículos que tienen un marcado interés, con el cálculo de los modelos propuestos para la administración de los inventarios de la forma más económica posible para la entidad objeto de estudio.
