Burnout syndrome in second-year students of the Latin American Scool in Medicine

ABSTRACT.
Objectives: Identify the prevalence of Burnout syndrome and describe the level in which the second-year medical students are found.
Materials and Methods: The research is descriptive and cross-sectional and was carried out by applying the Barraza Macías Student Burnout Unidimensional Scale to a sample of 30 second-year ELAM students during the academic year of 20-21 with prior informed consent; It's presence and levels were investigated, relating the entity with the variables of the age and sex of the students. Once the data was obtained, it was processed through the SPSS program.
Results: An incidence of Burnout syndrome with a mild level of (67%), a moderate level of (27%) and a (6%) that belongs to the deep level was observed, the entire sample presents the syndrome and the lowest levels were that of older individuals.
Conclusion: The subjected students of this study, were found to be affected by the Burnout syndrome, predominantly at a mild level.

RESUMEN.
Objetivos: Identificar la prevalencia del Síndrome de Burnout académico en los estudiantes de segundo año de la ELAM y describir el nivel del síndrome de Burnout en los estudiantes.
Materiales y Métodos: La investigación es descriptiva de corte transversal y se realizó mediante la aplicación de la Escala Unidimensional del Burnout Estudiantil de Barraza Macías a una muestra de 30 estudiantes de segundo año de la ELAM durante el curso 20-21 con previo consentimiento informado; se indagó la presencia del síndrome, sus niveles y se relacionó la entidad con las variables de la edad y el sexo de los estudiantes. Una vez obtenidos los datos, se procesaron a través del programa SPSS.
Resultados: Se observó la presencia del síndrome de Burnout en toda la muestra, con un nivel leve de (67%), moderado de (27%) y un (6%) que pertenece al nivel profundo, los niveles más bajos fueron de los individuos de mayor edad.
