Workshop 1: Theoretical, descriptive and applied studies of languages in the contemporary social context
Abstract
The paper proposes to analyze a book where orality in writing becomes the main protagonist. It takes a universal work as a reference, and takes it to Cuba, with its peculiarities and customs. The author René Batista Moreno, one of the great Villa Clara folklorists, who does not have many linguistic studies of his texts, is chosen. The objective of the work is to analyze the vulgarisms and phraseologisms in the Cuban Decameron that collects stories from the fields in our country. The book demonstrates that through orality in writing the qualities of the Cuban can be highlighted, whether they are: Chinese, black, islander or Creole, peasant or Pueblan, erotic, drinker, pimp, rogue, hustler, thief, fighter, traveler, nomadic, son of the poor, funny, foul-mouthed, nonsensical, superstitious, boastful, or adventurous, as Edelmis Anoceto announces from the prologue. A mosaic where the most picturesque characters of our towns come together, and who with their spontaneity make the most serious reader laugh. The Moya family, Pepín Puget, Rolando la ternera or Pancho Chinga are part of that network of Cubanness and folklore that is always linked to good Cuban humor, and they are shown based on orality in writing.
Resumen
La ponencia propone analizar un libro donde la oralidad en la escritura se convierte en el principal protagonista. Toma como referencia a una obra universal, y la lleva a Cuba, con sus peculiaridades y costumbres. Se elige al autor René Batista Moreno, uno de los grandes folcloristas villaclareños, quien no cuenta con muchos estudios lingüísticos de sus textos. El objetivo del trabajo es analizar los vulgarismos y fraseologismos en El Decamerón cubano que recoge cuentos de los campos en nuestro país. El libro demuestra que mediante la oralidad en la escritura pueden resaltarse las cualidades del cubano, ya sea: chino, negro, isleño o criollo, campesino o poblano, erótico, bebedor, chulo, pícaro, buscavida, robador, peleador, viajero, trashumante, hijo de pobres, chistoso, malhablado, disparatero, supersticioso, alardoso, o aventurero, como anuncia Edelmis Anoceto desde el prólogo. Un mosaico donde confluyen los personajes más pintorescos de nuestros pueblos, y que con su espontaneidad le arrancan la risa al lector más serio. La familia de los Moya, Pepín Puget, Rolando la ternera o Pancho Chinga forman parte de ese entramado de cubanía y folclor que siempre está ligado al buen humor cubano, y se muestran a partir de la oralidad en la escritura.
