Workshop 1: Theoretical, descriptive and applied studies of languages in the contemporary social context
Abstract
lexical-semantic features are discussed in 15 letters of a well-known Cuban patriot linked to the independence struggles. The testimonies of graphic seseo, emission of distensive -s, yeism and simplification of consonant groups, among others, speak of the patriot as a semi-cult speaker. In the lexical and semantic field, on the other hand, the field of war and conspiratorial words stands out, with evidence of neo-semantization, as well as voices of restricted epochal use and data of aboriginal toponymy and local phraseological units. The recounts allow for a lexicographic exercise that complements the dictionaries of Cubanisms.
Resumen
Se abordan rasgos gráfico-fónicos y léxico-semánticos en 15 cartas de una connotada patriota cubana vinculada a las luchas independentistas. Los testimonios de seseo gráfico, emisión de -s distensiva, yeísmo y simplificación de grupos consonánticos, entre otros, hablan de la patriota como hablante semiculta. En el ámbito léxico y semántico, por otra parte, destaca el campo de los vocablos bélicos y conspirativos, con evidencia de neosemantización, así como voces de uso epocal restringido y datos de toponimia aborigen y unidades fraseológicas locales. Los recuentos permiten un ejercicio lexicográfico que complementa los diccionarios de cubanismos.
