Workshop 5: Network of Cuban and Latin American cultural identity studies
Abstract
The result integrates productions of two research projects. Objective: Produce a substantive theory to study cultural identity in adolescents and young people. Results: Systematizes background, links the notions of youth, cultures and identities, from the generational approach, and the axes diversity, equity and cultural democracy; interrelates definitions, dimensions and indicators; It includes instruments to capture the configuration and dynamism of the cultural identity of Cuban youth today. The empirical study with diverse groups from the capital revealed communicative, associative and axiological identity contents; intragenerational typicities, mechanisms of (re)production, as well as concordances and deep intergenerational divergences. The investigative praxis allowed: to explore the ancestry of the management of community cultural development in the genesis and evolution of cultural identities, to perfect the methodology, to validate the questionnaire on cultural identity, as well as to corroborate and consolidate the theory. Conclusions: The result exceeds the scope of previous studies; formulates a theory and a holistic, multilevel and flexible methodological proposal; reveals data of theoretical-practical, political and ideological connotation. It is verified in publications, teaching, events and institutional consultancies, which promote new research and scientific and academic exchanges; and promote scientific accompaniment to the strengthening of identities, sociocultural development and social transformation in general.
Resumen
El resultado integra producciones de dos proyectos de investigación. Objetivo: Producir una teoría sustantiva para estudiar la identidad cultural en adolescentes y jóvenes. Resultados: Sistematiza antecedentes, enlaza las nociones juventudes, culturas e identidades, desde el enfoque generacional, y los ejes diversidad, equidad y democracia cultural; interrelaciona definiciones, dimensiones e indicadores; incluye instrumentos para captar la configuración y dinamismo de la identidad cultural de las juventudes cubanas en la actualidad. El estudio empírico con grupos capitalinos diversos, reveló contenidos identitarios comunicativos, asociativos y axiológicos; tipicidades intrageneracionales, mecanismos de (re)producción, así como concordancias y profundas divergencias intergeneracionales. La praxis investigativa permitió: explorar la ascendencia de la gestión del desarrollo cultural comunitario en la génesis y evolución de las identidades culturales, perfeccionar la metodología, validar el cuestionario sobre identidad cultural, así como corroborar y consolidar la teoría. Conclusiones: El resultado rebasa el alcance de estudios anteriores; formula una teoría y una propuesta metodológica holística, multinivel y flexible; revela datos de connotación teórico-práctica, política e ideológica. Se constata en publicaciones, docencia, eventos y asesorías institucionales, que impulsan nuevas investigaciones e intercambios científicos y académicos; y potencian el acompañamiento científico al fortalecimiento de las identidades, el desarrollo sociocultural y la transformación social en general.
