Workshop I: Theoretical, descriptive and applied studies of language and discourse
The communication gathers research advances regarding hidden lexicography and focuses on the analysis of a case in 19th century Cuba: the "Notes" that contain "provincial voices" in the Practical Primer for the management of sugar mills or estates intended to produce sugar (1862) by an anonymous author presenting himself as "Un Montuno".
The comparison with Cuban nuclear dictionaries and other marginal repertories helps to specify the value that this hidden glossary has for Cuban lexicography. For the comparison, we have explored the lexical database that constitutes the "Lexicographic Treasure of Cuba," a tool that continues to be updated based on the analysis of 19th-century Cuba. Considering that this is a line of research in its initial phase, some preliminary results are presented regarding the textual typology of "primer" or "manual" in the context of colonial Cuba, with the specificity of the "Notes" as a hidden glossary in a specialized work, and some features of hidden lexicography are outlined. The description, study, recovery, and socialization of other sources with value for lexicography should help to consolidate a tradition in the American and Hispanic field in general.
La comunicación recoge avances de investigación en torno a la lexicografía oculta, y se concentra en el análisis de un caso en la Cuba decimonónica: las “Notas” que contienen “voces provinciales” en la Cartilla practica del manejo de ingenios ó fincas destinadas á producir azúcar (1862) de autor anónimo que se presenta como “Un Montuno”.
El cotejo con diccionarios cubanos nucleares y con otros repertorios marginales, contribuye a precisar el valor que para la lexicografía cubana tiene este glosario oculto. Para el cotejo hemos explorado la base de datos léxicos que constituye el “Tesoro lexicográfico de Cuba”, una herramienta que se sigue actualizando a partir de la cala en el siglo XIX cubano.
Teniendo en cuenta que se trata de una línea de investigación en fase inicial se presentan algunos resultados preliminares en relación con la tipología textual “cartilla” o “manual” en el contexto de la Cuba colonial, con la especificidad de las “Notas” como glosario oculto en una obra de especialidad y se adelantan algunos rasgos de la lexicografía oculta.
La descripción, estudio, rescate y socialización de otras fuentes con valor para la lexicografía debe contribuir a consolidar una tradición en el ámbito americano e hispánico en general.
