Workshop III: Information and Communication Management in Contemporary Societies
The research was conducted at the Universidad Central "Marta Abreu" de Las Villas (UCLV), specifically at central campus. The general objective is to diagnose University Social Responsibility (USR) in the research field of the Universidad Central "Marta Abreu" de Las Villas (UCLV). Recent studies have analyzed USR in its remaining dimensions; therefore, this work focuses exclusively on this research area. It is conducted from a novel perspective that involves communication as axis
in the Social Responsibility process. It employs a mixed approach with a concurrent nested or embedded design with a quantitative predominance. The sample selection corresponds to mixed designs, choosing both probability and non-probability samples. The data collection methods and techniques used are document analysis, semi-structured interviews, and questionnaires. Among the findings, it is worth highlighting that despite the research activities carried out, there are still no clearly recognized regulations in documents governing the process, and there are deficiencies in the communication and dissemination of the actions and impacts. However, it is significant to highlight the strong engagement of students and faculty in the research process at UCLV, which highlights the need to strengthen the dissemination and communication processes associated with USR.
La investigación se realizó en la Universidad Central “Marta Abreu” de Las Villas (UCLV), específicamente en la Sede Central. El objetivo general es diagnosticar la Responsabilidad Social Universitaria (RSU) en el ámbito investigativo de la Universidad Central “Marta Abreu” de Las Villas (UCLV). Estudios recientes han analizado la RSU en sus dimensiones restantes, por lo que este trabajo profundiza exclusivamente en la arista de la investigación. Se realiza desde un enfoque novedoso que involucra a la comunicación como eje transversal en el proceso de Responsabilidad Social. Emplea un enfoque mixto con diseño anidado o incrustado concurrente con predominancia cuantitativa. La selección de la muestra se corresponde con los diseños mixtos, escogiéndose tanto muestras probabilísticas como no probabilísticas. Los métodos y las técnicas de recogida de información utilizadas son el análisis documental, la entrevista semiestructurada y el cuestionario. Entre los resultados se destacan, que a pesar de las acciones de investigación realizadas aún no se reconocen, claramente, normativas en documentos para regir el proceso y existen deficiencias en la comunicación y difusión de las acciones e impactos. No obstante, es significativo resaltar la alta vinculación de estudiantes y docentes al proceso investigativo en la UCLV y por ello la necesidad de reforzar los procesos de divulgación y copmunicació9n asociados a la RSU.
